I am sure you all have noticed how wallpaper seems to be EVERYWHERE these days. I have sourced it for clients, but applying it, DIY style, in my own home has been a little daunting. I decided to take the plunge and try it for myself again after a less than great experience with paste yourself paper, it turned out so great!
I am so excited to share with you this little project that I just completed. We added this beautiful buffalo check wallpaper by Magnolia Home to our front Living Room and I am so in love with how it turned out. I have had a couple bad wallpaper experiences in the past when I have decided to install it by myself, but this one was so simple to apply. I am rounding up a couple of my other favorite papers that would be so easy to apply as well.
This wallpaper came with paste already on the back, all you needed to do was apply water to activate the paste. I used a spray bottle, and then booked the ends, which is just folding the flue part over on top of itself, to let the paste activate before I applied it onto the wall. Other wallpapers require experts like Handyman Northampton to apply adhesive to stick them to the wall, but this wallpaper can be stuck on by itself.
Anyway, I was super worried that doing a geometric design wouldn't be very forgiving but I was so pleasantly surprised! The water color strokes really makes this pattern forgiving and so simple to line up as you work your way across your wall.
This wall is 8 feet x 11 and took 2 rolls of paper. It was about $100 in paper and I think we got so much bang for our buck. You see this wall right when you enter our home so I really wanted it to be something pretty to look at.
Here are a few of my other favorite wallpapers that would be a breeze to install. Just click the thumbnail photos to go to the links.
