Since I finished Grace's room for the One Room Challenge a couple months ago, her desk area never quite felt complete... I couldn't decide what I needed to do to finish the space off, I debated just adding more to the little gallery wall or something along those lines. The other day when I was perusing Homegoods I saw this adorable lampshade and loved how it was basically a piece of art itself... then I remembered Brooke from Nesting with Grace share a way to do a "magic light trick" and BAM I new it was the exact lighting hack I needed.
I ordered this pack of puck lights from Amazon. I am so pleased with this purchase, they come with batteries, are push lights, but also came with a remote control.
I absolutely love how adding this adorable little drum shade has made her little desk area feel complete. I wish you could see the details in person because the shade is 3-D with raised parts of felt and yarn.... so sweet! Grace's room is still so bright and colorful... it is such a dose of happy in there and is still definitely a favorite project I've completed.
I found this lampshade at my local Homegoods, but I found a couple other great ones that would be adorable done in the same way. The overall feel of drum lighting makes the area feel comfortable and cosy, so I want to see how else I can incorporate that into my home. We all want to feel that comfortable calmness in our houses don't we!
