A simple step to a cleaner home.

"This post has been sponsored by Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day ®. All thoughts and opinions are my own."

I am so thrilled to share this post and a little backstory as to why I recently made the switch to Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day Body Wash with you today because this subject has been on my mind for the better part of the last year. It all started with the desire to create a healthier home for my family. Around this time last year, I started doing research into everyday chemicals and toxins that are in our everyday home and hygiene products. The more I researched, the sicker I felt; funny how that happens, right?

I was in a place where I think a lot of young parents can relate-a place where I knew I needed to start making changes and better choices as to what we were using in our home, but really it all felt SO overwhelming! If I were to ditch every product, I would have to spend a small fortune to replace them. I needed a plan of action that included a better course than trashing it all and starting from ground zero. So, I decided on two of the most important things to me:

    1. Focus on cleaner products that are closest to our bodies and what we use THE most.
    2. That I would replace products as we ran out of them, rather than all at once.

These two steps have really helped in our switch because I knew where to start. Also, when I have been replacing the items, we were in need of them anyways. It seemed doable, and I've really enjoyed the process the last couple of months. Although I am passionate about finding ways to live better, I also have three young children, an endless parade of home projects as you know, and just plain don't have the time to research new brands or go to specialty markets.

One of the first things on my list to change was our body care. Soaps, in general, are notorious for being filled with a slew of things: parabens, phthalates, and artificial colors. We put these things right onto our skin. Our skin is our largest organ, and I think it's so important what we put on it because, hello, it literally soaks straight into our bodies. I had started looking out for better topicals too, and came across hemp-extract balms from the likes of Blessed CBD and other plant based, organic products. I was glad to know that there are a number of natural products in the market that we could use to replace the chemical filled ones. It was really important to me to make better choices in this category!

Like I said, I'm a busy mom, so through this process, I've come to rely on a couple brands that I know are clean and plant-derived. One of those is Mrs. Meyers. I love Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day Body Washbecause all their products smell AMAZING and natural, but they aren't filled with all thethings mentioned before. I was so thrilled to find out that they have aline of body washes dermatologically tested and thoughtfully formulated, cruelty-free, and made with out parabens, phthalates, and artificial colors.

Another great thing about Mrs. Meyer's Body Wash is that it's available at Walmart, so picking it up is a breeze-like, literally could not be more convenient because it's not out of my way and I don't need to worry about ordering it or going to a specialty store. Pick up your favorite scents during your next trip to Walmart.

I love this line of body wash so much because all of the scents are very natural smelling; they're made with plant derived ingredients, flaxseed and olive oils, glycerin, and essential oils. They smell beautiful without being perfume-y and fake smelling, which sometimes leave me with a headache. I kinda feel spoiled, like I'm in some fancy aromatherapy spa.

I hope this post gives you some inspiration and guidance about how to start making your home a healthier and cleaner environment for you and your children. I really think that having a healthy home is just as important as having a beautiful one.
