Christmas Entryway + Tips to Hang Garland

*This post is sponsored by Command™, but all views expressed therein are my own.

Each new season, I look forward to sprucing up my entryway-but I'm always extra excited when it's time to decorate it for the Christmas season. One year, I even had all my halls decked within the first week of October because I'm a girl who loves her Christmas cheer.

Each year, I like to use garland as my main decor and I get asked, every year, how I hang it on my board + batten and around my doorways. I will tell you my biggest secret that's probably common knowledge, but I'm going to pretend it's still a secret of the trade.... I use Command™ products. I've been turning to these guys for years because I don't want my Christmas cheer to be causing my walls long-term damage that needs to be repaired.

These are a couple of my favorite Command™ products to use for seasonal decorating. My must-have's are the Command™ Mini Clips, Command™ Small Hooks, Command™ Clear Window Hook, and Command™ Medium Oil-Rubbed Bronze Metal Indoor Hook. I grabbed these on one of my many Home Depot trips; they are located in the hanger aisle, and there are SO many options for all your hanging needs and whims. No matter what you need to hang, the Command™ line has your back.

This year, instead of doing real greenery, I am trying out some faux. The verdict is still out on it. The huge pro of using fake is that it won't get crispy and make my house a total disaster. I'll keep you updated if I like it once I live with it for a while, but I digress... let's talk about how I hung it on my board + batten simply and painlessly.

For my entryway greenery garland, I used the Command™ Mini Clips. I spaced them out about every 12 - 16". The garland I am using here is really lightweight; if you are using a heavier garland, you will want to use the Command™ Clear Mini Hooks.

I layered the star banner using the same clips. I had totally forgotten that I bought this at the end of the last holiday season, and I was so excited when I found it in my decor box. Have you ever done that?

We don't have a mantle or stairs of any kind in our home, so I like to hang our stockings along the garland right here in our entry. It is so festive and fun! I used the Command™ Clear Mini Hooks for these, and I just tucked them under the green garland so you can't see them at all.

My favorite part of the Command™ products, in addition to being so easy to apply and remove, is that they are crystal clear, so even though I have a lot of layers hanging on top of one another, you can't see the mechanics of it at all. Showing the mechanics of your holiday decor really ruins the magic and can be tacky.

So, there ya have it-my big secret to painless holiday decorating. To jazz it up next year, a friend has suggested some Custom Sequin Pillows. A photo of the family on the pillow could be nice. There is nothing better than walking into a home decorated for the holiday season if ya ask me!
