Hey there! Today I’m sharing a little look into my early fall decor. I am totally on board with Rylen with having a very neutral, and natural approach this year. I like light & bright throughout all the seasons with just a little bit of added color. I mostly just cozied it up with a lot of texture. I think once it cools down I will be able to handle some more saturated color in my house, but for now our 100 degree September days just makes me still want airy and easy going. My friend recently moved into an innisfil condo and her decorating looks amazing so I’ve based mine on her house.

For all my new followers, who may not have followed me before The Collected House, this summer we took on a HUGE house renovation which included new concrete floors + a new kitchen. We were definitely in need of a renovation, especially after we had been putting this one off for quite a long time now. But everytime I thought about how much it would cost, it almost made me doubt myself about even going through with it at all. Luckily, someone told us about these home improvement loans that we could get from a place like Tower Loan, (https://www.towerloan.com/lending/home-improvement-loans/) if we found that we were struggling to cover the costs of the new concrete flooring and kitchen. It worked out fine in the end, and we were actually able to do the renovations without help, but it’s always good to know that resources are available to help us in case we needed it. After learning this, I couldn’t wait to get started. When we were thinking about renovating the house, one of our friends actually mentioned that we should think about getting our roof renovated too. She said that the exterior is just as important, especially when it comes to the roof. She said we should at least get it checked over to limit our chances of leaks and to prevent any tiles from falling off the roof. Whilst we didn’t actually get around to that, my friend did recommend that we used these kansas city roofers if we were ever going to get our roof maintained. Perhaps we should consider doing that soon before it goes into winter. We just had so much going on inside the house, we thought we’d save the exterior for another day.

It was a super whirlwind of a month, however the odds and ends have proven tricky and super difficult to find the time to finish. I was actually looking at some houses for sale in greenville sc but I decided not to move in the end. The renovation was hard work but it was totally worth it. So, this tour was tricky because 80% of my house is still unfinished and sans baseboards, but ya know… I made it work! Our next mission is to sort out our heating and air conditioning. So far, we’ve been looking online at sites like https://www.airnowhvac.com for some inspiration. Making sure your heating and air conditioning are working at their best is essential as any faults can end up costing you a lot of money in the long run! Being able to notice telltale signs of damage or deterioration in your AC unit is a must and knowing the contact details for your local AC repair experts is a good way to stay prepared before any action is required. I’m not sure where I would be on sizzling hot or sub-zero days without a fully-functional HVAC – it’s only on days like those that you realize how much you rely on a regulated temperature in your home to stay comfortable, which is why many value the One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning offerings to help them out when they’ve got an issue with their unit. Anyways, enough talk I know you’re all here for the pictures. So without further adoo-

  1. Jenna,
Your home is my very favorite of all the fall homes I’ve toured! I love the beautiful colors and your style. May I know the source for the pillow that looks like a Dwell rosette pillow–light blue with white? And also for the Home Sweet Home, pillow? I love the blessed sign that both of you have for your craft. Are those for sale, by chance? Thank you!

    1. Hi Wendy! Oh thank you so much! That is so incredibly sweet of you! The pillow is from Homegoods… of course :)! We’re actually making those signs in San Diego at Queen Bee Craft Night in October!
