Yay! We're back from both of us falling off the face of the earth, aka being newly pregnant and feeling like we're slowly dying of exhaustion + nausea. We're popping in to share a new room redo, what is better than that! The best kind of blog posts ever.
After we redid Grace's room, I was dying to redo my little boy's room too. I feel like he's always left out of the fun for whatever reason (second kid problems). I call it a "big" boy room lightly, because he's well.. only 3. But he has a regular bed now so it qualifies right? Anyways, I was so thrilled to add another Beddy's to my collection, you can read my review of their product { here }. It is certainly one of my very favorite new things I have found. We went with the Hot and Coaled beddy's . It is MUCH more color than I am used to, I am such a neutral girl at heart... but I am learning to add color. I believe kid's rooms should be fun and full of personality. I had a lot of fun mixing patterns in this room (even though I do get scared at times that maybe it'll look like a clown hut). But I think it came together pretty well.
My husband built Hudson a bed for this space, because I just think that is the coolest thing to do and also... he rocks at it. We found plans on Ana White and I love how simple and rustic it is. I chose to do a two-tone finish on it. The planks are stained special walnut, and the white is Swiss Coffee.
Another project I did was this dresser. It's an old Ikea Hemnes dresser that's been hanging around our house for years moving here and there. I added some fun paper from Chasing Paper for the drawer fronts, and I love how fun it turned out. I told you... like so much pattern going on in here... but hey, why not.
Here are a couple more detail shots for fun, I love the pillowcase and animals from the Pillowfort line at Target. The rug is also from Target.
We DIY'd pretty much everything in this space, from the bed, to the curtains, to the dresser. That is my favorite way to decorate my own home. What do you think? I think it turned out so fun and perfect for my cute little 3-year old.
