Rylen’s Fall Tour: Part 2

Better late than never right?! I cant believe how fast Halloween has snuck up on me this year! We have our first Halloween party on Friday and I just realized i don’t even have a costume for Ridge yet! Hopefully this isn’t an indication of how the rest of this holiday season is going to go.

I had fun decorating my family/dining room for Halloween this year.  I tried to stick with mostly neutral colors with a vintage vibe. I changed out my botanical prints for these fun vintage prints put together by Ella Claire. I love the playful touch they add.

I was so happy to finally have shelves to decorate! Styling shelves is always a process for me. I have to put stuff up and see how i feel about it for a day or two then tweak things. I recently bought this three tiered shelf from Rod Works in Gilbert, AZ. It is the perfect depth for this dining room. I added some spooky bats to the hallway along with pumpkins of course!

Hope you have a very happy Halloween!

Rylen’s Halloween Tour: Part One

Every year I have the Halloween or Fall decor dilemma. This year Halloween won out after I found these oh so cute printables from Ella Claire. These prints set the tone for my neutral, vintage, and simple Halloween decor! I snapped a few pictures of my front room before it was destroyed from the craft night we hosted. It’s still in disarray haha but it was totally worth the fun night!

I found the Double, Double Toil and Trouble print at the Caravan Shoppe. It came with 3 prints for $5! I just had an engineer print done at staples then stapled the print to poplar boards. It was a very easy project that makes quite a statement!
Hope your enjoyed my front room all dressed up for Halloween!

Finally Fall: Rylen’s Fall Home Tour 2016

Jenna and I were so excited to be included in this Finally Fall blog hop! We feel like the theme “finally fall” could not be more fitting for us Arizonans. We have to fake it till we make it for quite a while until it FINALLY starts to cool down here! This fall/holiday season is going to be an interesting one with baby coming soon. I normally love to decorate for Halloween but I know with a newborn around I won’t be changing out my decor anytime soon. I wanted some simple, neutral touches of fall that would transition well until Christmas comes out and ones that I (hopefully) won’t get sick of!
rylen-fallhome-3I still love these little copper wire pumpkins Jenna and I made for Everything Home magazine last fall. It was fun to pull them out and see they had a nice patina on them since the last time I had seen them!

dsc_0297-2rylen-fallhome-5I love this hallway. It’s been almost a year now and I’m still not sick of it, which is a good sign. The buffalo check makes the best backdrop for the holidays.

I was so excited to find this magnolia wreath on decor steals. I’ve been wanting one for SO long but could never justify spending $90 on one. rylen-fallhome-6dsc_0308-2rylen-fallhome-7Can you spy my little photo bomber? Photographing a room takes skills, photographing a room with little hooligans running around is an art. This last time we were photographing, I kept thinking we needed a behind the scenes video going on because it was not as serene as the pictures make it look!

This is one of my favorite times of year. I love everything that fall brings and cant wait to start all of our fun fall traditions! Thanks for stopping by!

Rylen’s Fall Home Tour

Hello! Welcome to my very first fall home tour. I can’t say I have EVER decorated for fall this early. The blistering heat here in Arizona really puts a damper on the fall feeling. However, I am kind of loving turning the air down low and staring at my pretty pumpkins pretending that it feels like autumn. Here is a look at my home all fallified!

I had to sneak in a little Halloween and will probably add a little more once we hit October, which is only a few days away! Crazy!

I have a love hate relationship with this front living room. At times it feels like wasted space because we really hardly ever use it, but on the other hand it’s nice to have a room that is normally fairly clean to entertain the occasional surprise visitor. Anyone else experience this?!

One of these days I will get some curtains on my sad windows 🙁

My sisters, mom, and I made a few of these fabric pumpkins with REAL pumpkin stems last year. They are so fun! I want one in every color and pattern! I’m hoping to snag a few more stems this year. This is one of the crafts we will be bringing to Queen Bee Craft Night in California!

After digging through my garage for my fall/Halloween bins, I realized I have WAY more Halloween than fall! So I had to get creative while trying to stick to a budget. I love the subtle fall look and mainly stuck to fall elements you would find in nature with a few pops of orange. My favorite fall elements are real pumpkins. I just love how each one is so different and has it’s own imperfections. They are full of character! I am currently on the search for some fun fairy-tale pumpkins.

I’m loving this little vignette as well. I originally saw these birch like candles in Jenna’s house and had to have some! Luckily home goods had a couple left. The “blessed” sign is another one of the crafts we will be bringing to Queen Bee. It’s the perfect size to nuzzle into any vignette and is so neutral it could stay up all year!

A fur throw, fall greenery, a couple pumpkins, and some feathers welcome fall in the  buffalo check hallway. Okay, so we are nowhere near needing coats and scarves here in Arizona but it looks cute, right?neutral fall home tour

I’ve had fun incorporating some feathers into this seasons decor. They are a simple and inexpensive way to add some some fall charm to any space.

I kept the family room pretty simple, a few fun pumpkins and greenery. I love this antique bread pan I found at a salvage yard (which is an entire blog post on it’s own). It looks pretty dreamy stuffed with my white pumpkins!

Moving on to the dining room. I gave my HUGE chalkboard a fall face lift, complete with a feather garland.

I can’t get enough of these faux olive baskets from Target. They are seriously perfect for everything and make anything stuffed inside them look like a million bucks, if only I could find some clothes that did the same thing haha but really…..

In the kitchen we added a fall acorn wreath to do the pantry door and a few more, yes…pumpkins!
